2020 Asian Weightlifting Championships

Information about the Competition

Following the meeting of the Executive Commitee of the Asian Weightlifting Federation and AWF Congress in July 2018, it was decided to hold the 2020 Asian Championship in Kazakhstan.

This competition is a gold level qualification tournament in the run-up to the XXXII Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The Asian Weightlifting Championships are held under the auspices of the Asian Weightlifting Federation.

The first Men's Asian Championship was held in 1971, and Women's in 1988. Since 2008 this tournament has become a qualification competition for summer Olympic Games.

Information about Nur-Sultan city
